Required specifications of PC hardware are determined by the size and complexity of the types of calls you want to record.
In all cases, a dedicated PC should be deployed at each site that requires recording and, in the case of non-VOIP recording, the chassis must be capable of housing the relevant interface cards.
To capture audio, Echo must be installed on a PC with a dedicated network interface that is connected to a mirrored port on a local managed network switch that governs your voice LAN.
The PC running Echo must also have a network interface whose IP configuration makes it visible on the data LAN, so normal web and remote access can be performed.
Echo will happily record SIP calls in a virtualised environment such as VMware® or Microsoft® Hyper-V™.
For smaller deployments of under 30-channels PRI/SIP, 8-Channels BRI or 8-channels of POTS/Analogue, a relatively low-specification PC can be used:
